New to Gym? Don't Wear These!

Updated: Feb 11

If you're a first-time user in a gym, congratulations on taking the first step towards a healthier and more active lifestyle! Starting a new fitness journey can be exciting, but it can also be overwhelming if you're not sure what to expect. It's important to remember that everyone in the gym was once a beginner, so there's no need to feel intimidated or embarrassed. In fact, most gym-goers are friendly and welcoming, and many are happy to offer advice and support. With a little preparation and some basic knowledge, you can feel confident and comfortable in the gym, and start making progress towards your fitness goals.

Here are some tips and advice about what not to wear in your first gym experience.

1. Jeans - Jeans are not suitable for working out as they are not flexible and can restrict your movement. They also tend to be heavy and uncomfortable when you start to sweat.

2. Sandals or Flip Flops - Sandals or flip flops are not appropriate footwear for working out as they do not provide enough support and can cause slipping or tripping hazards. It's important to wear proper athletic shoes with good support and traction.

3. Jewelry - Wearing jewelry while working out can be dangerous as it can get caught on equipment or on other people. It's best to remove all jewelry, including necklaces, bracelets, and earrings, before starting your workout.

4. Heavy Perfumes or Colognes - Heavy perfumes or colognes can be overwhelming and unpleasant for others in the gym. It's best to avoid wearing strong fragrances or to keep them to a minimum.

5. Clothing with Offensive Graphics or Language - Clothing with offensive graphics or language can be inappropriate and offensive to others in the gym. It's important to be respectful of others and wear clothing that is appropriate and non-offensive.

Take phone calls outside. Too distracting.
